Position Summary

The Liver Center has brought comprehensive treatment for liver disease to the Western New York region. We are also conducting cutting-edge research studies and attracting clinical trials of novel therapies for liver diseases as well as developing a biorepository that houses samples from patients with liver disease. The candidate will work in a fast paced environment that bridges the gap between clinical care and research. Our continuing growth and expansion in the treatment of liver disease has identified a need for a full-time (1.0 FTE) position to accommodate the volume of work currently underway and forthcoming in the immediate future.

The duties for this position are as follows:
Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Undertake coordinating tasks of clinical research studies.
- Assist investigator in successful recruitment and retention of
subjects.
- Guide day-to-day operations of assigned duties assuring
adherence to protocol.
- Generate accurate study reports, review clinical results obtained
from study participants, conduct screening and study clinical
visits, resolve queries in a timely manner, maintain contact with
Principal Investigator, monitoring agency, sponsor and contracted
vendors.
- Generate IRB approved materials for distribution to study
subjects to promote project enrollment and retention of enrolled
subjects.
- Collection and processing of biological samples which may
include shipment of samples to outside laboratories, oversee
implementation research studies, generation of qualitative and
quantitative data and data collection forms and surveys.
Since the Center also maintains clinics at both Buffalo General
Medical Center and Erie County Medical Center, there may also
be an opportunity to participate in clinical evaluations and patient
follow up generated from both of those venues including patient
interactions via telemedicine.
Administrative duties as needed:
- Manage day-to-day operations of assigned project(s) including
development and implementation of research procedures and
systems.
- Assist Principal Investigator with administration of clinical trial
protocols, including informed consents and screening subjects.
- Maintaining research and subject records, managing
correspondence, researching medical records, recording data and
attending training sessions.
- Development of educational materials for clinic staff training
and information sessions with Institutional staff as required.

Minimum Qualifications

- Required a minimum of 3-5 years of clinical experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Proficiency in phlebotomy and intravenous access
- Medical terminology
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Detail oriented with strong organizational skills
- LPN with NYS licensure

Preferred Qualifications

- RN with a current NYS licensure
- Familiar with clinical research procedures and
