Position Summary

We invite applications for a Postdoctoral Associate position in the School of Public Health and Health Professions’ Department of Community Health and Health Behavior at the University at Buffalo (UB). The individual will join a multi-institutional team of social and health psychologists at UB (Heather Orom, Marc Kiviniemi), Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (Jennifer Hay), and Washington University at St. Louis (Erika Waters) conducting research regarding the sources and solutions to high uncertainty about one’s risk for cancer and other diseases. This research is conducted with populations that are medically under-served, including people from minority racial and ethnic groups and people who reside in rural geographical areas. The individual will be supported on an existing R01 (CA197351). The individual will have an opportunity to hone her or his knowledge of health behavior theory, as well as paper and grant writing. Minimum Qualifications

Doctorate in health, social, or clinical psychology, public health or a related behavioral/social sciences field is required.

Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience conducting health disparities research, theoretically driven disease prevention research, and strong quantitative skills are preferred.
