Position Summary

We are searching for a colleague to join our school in the field department as an assistant clinical professor. The successful candidate will be a master’s level licensed social work professional who has experience and knowledge of the social work practice community and the ability to interface school curriculum with the skills and practice knowledge gained in student field placements. The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to Social Work’s ethics and values as well as a commitment to integrate scholarship in both the field and the classroom. An added component of the clinical faculty field education position is that the candidate has experience in program development. Field education plays a significant role in the Social Work curriculum as it is where students put the theories, approaches, and concepts they have been learning in the classroom into practice.

In general, the duties and responsibilities involve working collaboratively with the Field Education Department to ensure quality field experiences that enable students to meet required competencies, and adhere to accreditation standards. Duties include assessing, assigning, and supporting students in field placements, assisting in the identification of new field placement sites, assisting in the development of field education materials to support students and field educators, and developing a positive presence in the community for the School of Social Work. Responsibilities also include actively supporting the mission of the School of Social Work, participating in service to the School, participating in the MSW curriculum development, and fulfilling other faculty responsibilities. This position may also require the candidate to teach in the Graduate Program.
