Position Summary

The successful candidate will possess the necessary vision, leadership, managerial, organizational and communication skills to reestablish a five year combined BS/MS program in Exercise Science and Athletic Training. In the first two years, the Program Director will direct the BS/MS program, including budget oversight, marketing, recruitment and enrollment of students, hire additional Athletic Training Faculty members that will assist with curriculum development, implementation, and teaching during the academic year, along with student supervision and mentoring. The primary responsibilities of the Program Director will be to lead the process of CAATE accreditation and liaise with department faculty about changes in accreditation standards and policies. The Program Director will report directly to the Chair of Exercise and Nutrition Sciences.

Minimum Qualifications

An earned doctorate in athletic training, exercise science, kinesiology, or related field and certification as an Athletic Trainer are required

Two or more years as a practicing Athletic Trainer

Two or more years of teaching experience

Familiarity with CAATE accreditation procedures is essential

Preferred Qualifications

A strong record of teaching experience
A history of service to the athletic training profession
Administrative experience in Athletic Training education
