Position Summary

The University Honors College seeks an energetic and highly professional Staff Assistant for a university-wide program serving approximately 1,200 students. Under the general direction of the Administrative Director, you will serve as liaison to and work closely with the University Honors College staff; oversee the College’s annual events and student programs; supervise front desk activities and student support staff; and, provide budget/finance and human resource administrative support.

This position requires you to have exceptional attention to detail; high-level of organizational skills, creative ideas and resourceful problem-solving skills; exceptional communication and professional writing ability; dependable leadership and ability to supervise student workers of diverse backgrounds; the ability to effectively prioritize tasks for yourself and others; and a desire and ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a dynamic team.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required and competency in the following areas:

• Accounting or budget management.

• Creation of Excel spreadsheets with formulas to manage financial data.

• General office management.

• Keyboarding utilizing word-processing programs.

• Customer Service skills with excellent verbal, written and inter-personal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Interest in growing and expanding programs that serve a diverse community and that support diversity, equity and inclusion.

• General experience with program development/event planning.

• Experience processing procurement and personnel transactions.

• Supervisory experience.

• Experience working in a diverse environment.

Salary Range $39,403 - $45,000
