Posting Detail Information

Position Summary

The Postdoctoral Associate will be expected to develop physiologically based-PD and population PK/PD models and simulate pre-clinical and clinical studies related to the areas of HIV prevention with film based dosage forms as well as more classical PK/PD population analyses in other therapeutic areas such as psychiatry and oncology. These models will be used to evaluate study designs for the Film Approaches to Microbicide Evaluation program related to HIV prevention with vaginal film formulations. This may entail utilizing Monte Carlo clinical trial simulation based strategies to evaluate study designs in-silico. Ultimately, this work will utilize a variety of data sources, integrated these in a model informed drug development framework to maximize the probability of success of proposed study designs in this area as well as analyzing resulting data generated from these studies.
Applicant should possess a Ph.D. degree with training in chemical or biological engineering or pharmaceutical/pharmacological sciences focusing in quantitative approaches to representing mechanistic/physiologic/population information. Applicants must possess strong fundamental skills in general mathematical and computational modeling including experience with PK/PD and/or population modeling. In addition, the applicant must have expertise in relevant software packages, eg. R, NONMEM, Berkeley Madonna/Vensim (or similar). Evidence of expertise is desirable, preferably demonstrated through at least one 1st author paper in a relevant journal. The applicant will be expected to be self-motivated, capable of conducting independent research with strong problem solving skills as well as excellent oral and written communication skills.
