Position Summary

The School of Social Work is seeking to fill the position, Director of Academic Processes & Data Operations. This key position includes leadership and responsibilities in the areas of enrollment management, quality improvement and data analysis, strategic project support, and senior leadership within the School of Social Work.

Enrollment Management
● Works closely with the Sr. Assistant Dean for Enrollment to project and analyze enrollment data and trends in collaborating with senior leadership, to identify proposed enrollment targets for school and university planning processes.
● Assists with monitoring and managing the school’s enrollment, assures accuracy of student program coding and billing.

Quality Improvement & Data Processes
● Advises and consults with senior leadership to design & implement the school’s Quality Improvement (QI) planning process as it relates to core school functions: e.g., admissions, curriculum goals, academic quality, and student retention. Oversees and coordinates the QI monitoring process for the entire school, working with the designated coordinators.
● Works with the Technology Services unit to identify appropriate technological tools (e.g., dashboards) to assist in the QI monitoring process. And assists in coordinating the School’s Information Management plan (includes databases), convening key stakeholders periodically and working closely with the Technology Services department to ensure appropriate long-term planning to meet the School’s planning and service implementation goals.
● Directs and manages student information systems to ensure the timely implementation of course evaluations, reporting of teaching evaluations, and curricular and program evaluations.
● Creates queries and reports (i.e. SIRI, Tableau, etc.) for ease in up-loading and down-loading for other units within the SSW, such as admissions, enrollment, registrar, student services, and field education.

Strategic Project Support
● Participates as a member of the CSWE reaccreditation committee, contributing to data collection, organization, analysis, and programmatic evaluation.
● Works with Sr Leadership to evaluate degree programs, application review system and CRM.
● Analyzes information, advises and creates external reports for school, UB Administration, and external stakeholders regarding enrollment/revenue projections, reaccreditation, state registration, etc.
● Supports the School’s participation in the Provost’s Unit Standards & Impact Analysis process, working with the Associate Dean for Faculty Development in data management and reporting.

Senior Leadership
● Represents the School’s interest at several University wide groups and committees.
● Collaborates with other data/information experts on campus to establish new core systems, improve upon existing systems, and keeps current with the campus information architecture and business rules as well as new reporting techniques.
● Works with relevant staff and faculty to ensure the practice of safe data handling, privacy and confidentiality of electronic and printed information.

Minimum Qualifications

Master’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization (i.e. mathematics, statistics, computer science, research methodology, education, psychology, sociology, social work, etc) with 1 year of relevant experience. Excellent organizational and data analysis skills, independence and initiative.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization, with 3+ years of relevant experience.
Experience with program quality improvement, writing, and budgeting.
Experence with ACCESS, Excel, SPSS, and other similar software.
interrelated transactional systems, and business intelligence tools (i.e. Tableau).
Experience working with university/college database systems, or relational database management systems, included but not limited to: data modeling, query development, data security, data export and reporting.

Physical Demands
Salary Range $50,000 - $65,000
