Position Summary

Responsible for the overall Upward Bound Program (UBP) clerical and receptionist duties of preparing electronic requisitions, maintain soft ledger of itemized budget expenses, data-entry, process paperwork necessary for Program’s events, excursions and field trips. Compiling college tour estimates, expenditures spreadsheets, invoice vendors to process payment(s). Provide back up documentation for all UBP student files, budget expenses and/or spreadsheets requested during any audits. Assist Director with preparation of annual performance reports and university reports. Assist with initial intake of new student recruits, file maintenance, data entry, schedule classroom space, update program brochures. Finally, as the initial contact point in the Upward Bound office, AA will be expected to courteous, unbiased and possess excellent telephone/e-mail/in-person communication skills while working with the staff, students, parents/guardians, faculty, tutors, and other OUPP staff.

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum four years progressive administrative experience in related field/office setting. Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Windows, ie. Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook; electronic communication tools: Internet and email required. Demonstrate organizational skills, problem solving and interpersonal relationship ski8lls with experience providing complex, confidential administrative support with tact and diplomacy. Ability to work with multiple deadlines and priorities; and a variety of projects. Available to work some evenings and weekends related to special events and meetings.

Preferred Qualifications

Preference given to individuals with Bachelor’s degree and three or more years experience working with target population. Has worked for and/or is an alumnus of a TRIO Program(s).

Physical Demands

Dependable means of transportation. Ability to sit and stand minimum three hours at a time.
