Position Summary

Join Our Interdisciplinary Team: The selected candidate will join a multidisciplinary research cluster in the area of ‘Built Environment, Health Behavior, and Health Outcomes’ involving faculty in the Departments of Rehabilitation Science, Community Health & Health Behavior, Urban and Regional Planning, and Architecture.

This position carries a high expectation for productive scholarship, including procurement of extramural grant funding and peer-reviewed publications. We are particularly interested in applicants with expertise that supports one or more of UB’s related research strengths: universal design and accessibility of products and environments; assistive technology; home health and function; inequities in transportation, food, and global health affecting older adults and people with disabilities.

Experience with multidisciplinary collaborations in a research or clinical setting and ability to mentor students across disciplines will be viewed favorably. A joint appointment with a related department may be possible.

Minimum Qualifications

1) an earned research doctorate degree (PhD, EdD, ScD) in a related field; (2) a strong record of or potential for extramural research funding; (3) a strong publication record for rank; and (4) excellence or potential for excellence in teaching. Eligibility for OT licensure in New York State preferred, but is not required.

The successful candidate must contribute to the teaching, scholarship and service mission of the University.
