Position Summary

The School of Public Health and Health Professions (SPHHP) at the University at Buffalo is seeking a Resource Manager to join the Office of Resource Management in the Dean’s Office. Under the direction of the Director for Resource Management, you will support and perform the financial and human resource management functions administered by the School, as well as provide oversight of the activities performed by those departments and organizations which it serves. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, developing, monitoring, and managing financial accounts, performing efficient payables (e.g., eReq, RAP, P-Card), receivables, and payroll functions with proper internal controls, as well as performing all functions within personnel management, including job posting (UBJobs), assisting with searches, and processing appointments (ePTF).

As the Resource Manager, you will be expected to support reporting through the use of account development within SIRI in order to ensure effective management of operating budgets for resource planning, as well as the preparation of other materials for both unit level and School-wide budgeting, financial analysis, and reporting. The Office of Resource Management is responsible for setting up systems that result in clear and efficient human resources, financial processing, cost analysis, and cash management, with an overall focus on compliance. While assigned to the Dean’s Office, you will work as a liaison in partnership with the School’s five departments in order to ensure shared understanding, while providing guidance and support.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree with 2 years of progressive experience in higher education.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree; relevant coursework in finance, business, and/or accounting; 3 or more years of progressive experience in higher education; higher education experience in a decanal unit; experience in both finance (budget development and reporting) and human resources; Team player, willing to work in various levels of the organization, focusing on improving outcomes for the entire School and University.
