Position Summary

The University at Buffalo is seeking two Clinical Assistant/Associate Professors to join its Undergraduate Program in Public Health in the School of Public Health and Health Professions (SPHHP). The Public Health Bachelor of Science provides students with the skills necessary to understand the complex factors that influence the health of individuals, families, communities, and populations and to take a public health approach to addressing these factors to improve health outcomes for both individuals and societies.

The successful candidates are expected to contribute to the teaching, scholarship, and service mission of the undergraduate public health program and the School. The expected teaching load is 3-4 courses per semester. While the primary focus is on teaching, the successful candidates are expected to engage in research scholarship in their specialty area. Involvement of undergraduates in research activities is encouraged. Teaching faculty will be assigned to a “home department” in one of the SPHHP five academic departments, based on fit with the faculty member’s area of expertise.

UB SPHHP is one of the only schools in the country to include both public health and health professions, providing unique opportunities for collaboration amongst students and faculty. UB SPHHP is accredited by the Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH). As the public flagship university in the State University of New York (SUNY) system, UB is ranked in the top 50 of public universities by U.S. News and World Reports and has been a member of the elite Association of American Universities (AAU) for over 25 years.
