Position Summary

The University at Buffalo is seeking two Clinical Assistant/Associate Professors to join its Undergraduate Program in Public Health in the School of Public Health and Health Professions (SPHHP). The Public Health Bachelor of Science provides students with the skills necessary to understand the complex factors that influence the health of individuals, families, communities, and populations and to take a public health approach to addressing these factors to improve health outcomes for both individuals and societies.

The successful candidates are expected to contribute to the teaching, scholarship, and service mission of the undergraduate public health program and the School. The expected teaching load is 3-4 courses per semester. While the primary focus is on teaching, the successful candidates are expected to engage in research scholarship in their specialty area. Involvement of undergraduates in research activities is encouraged. Teaching faculty will be assigned to a “home department” in one of the SPHHP five academic departments, based on fit with the faculty member’s area of expertise.

Minimum Qualifications

An earned doctorate degree in a public health discipline or a related field; a record of/potential for excellence in teaching at the undergraduate level; a record of/potential for research productivity. Preferred Qualifications

Experience teaching public health courses at the undergraduate level; evidence of high quality teaching and research productivity. Area of expertise is open, although applications from faculty of expertise in environmental health, health policy, health services administration, public health practice, and/or biostatistics are particularly encouraged.
