Position Summary

Develop and maintain software relevant to departmental projects.

This position will be focused on research issues related to Biomedical Informatics and Public Health Informatics. It involves the programming and use of natural language processing software and software designed to provide eQuality Measures.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor of Science degree in computer science or related field is required. Requires expertise with Relational Databases, SQL, XML, .NET, C#, JSPs, XSLT, JAVA, Apache/Tomcat, JBoss, IIS and JavaScript is required. Expertise in database design and database optimization also required. Should be experienced .Net, C# and Java programmer, familiar with both the .Net and the J2EE architectures, as well as experience as a Web developer. Should work well in a small team of approximately six individuals.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s Degree is preferred. Knowledge of Ontologies, the Web Ontology Language, automated reasoners and expert systems a plus. The use of Web Services, Java beans and enterprise Java beans in a multi-tiered architecture also a plus.
