Position Summary

The Department of Pediatrics, University at Buffalo (UB), Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences and Women and Children’s Hospital of Buffalo is actively recruiting a full-time grant administrator. This is an advanced level administrative position providing operational and financial support to the department’s research endeavors. As an active member of research teams, will monitor start-up, administration and close-out of grants and update Primary Investigators (PIs), Research Coordinators and others on grant timelines, progress of studies, status on contracts and budgets, etc. Will balance Income Reimbursable Funds (IRFs) and ensure the PI faculty salary recovery to IFR grants is current and up to date. Will place orders for equipment and supplies, process invoices to suppliers and reconcile final accounts utilizing UB Sponsored Programs Services (SPS) and SUNY Research Foundation Approval and eReq systems for data entry of grant awards, expenses and wages. Also assist with research and database projects as requested. Strong organizational, accounting and computer skills are required. Must be able to multi-task, make decisions independently and be proactive. Frequent interaction with external contacts requires excellent communication skills to ensure ongoing research development.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in business administration, grant management or budgeting or related field. Experience performing some combination of grant administration and accounting.

Preferred Qualifications

Experienced in all phases of grant administration, start-up, administration, close-out.
Familiarity with UB processes, i.e., eReq, SPS, IFR accounts, etc.
